About this tour
Tiruvannamalai, located approximately 196 kilometers from the state capital Chennai in Tamil Nadu, is a prominent temple town and a significant pilgrimage destination. It is renowned for the Annamalaiyar Temple, often referred to as the Arunachaleswarar Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This Hindu temple is nestled at the base of the Arunachala Hill, which stands at an impressive height of around 2669 feet. The hill covers a distance of 14 kilometers in circumference, and during every full moon, thousands of devotees pay their respects to Arunachalesvara by circumambulating the Arunachala Hill barefoot.
Tiruvannamalai hosts a grand festival lasting for ten days in the Tamil month of Karthigai, falling between November and December. This festival culminates in the celebration of Karthigai Deepam and is a significant event for the town.

Itinerary
On the first day, either in the morning or afternoon, you will be picked up from Chennai and taken to Thiruvannamalai. Upon arrival in Thiruvannamalai, you will check in to your hotel. After freshening up, you will have the option to embark on the Girivalam, a 14-kilometer foot walk, either late at night or early the next morning.
On the second day, in the morning, you will have the opportunity to visit the Arunachaleswarar temple for darshan. After completing your darshan, you will check out from your hotel and proceed to Chennai, where the journey concludes with a drop-off.
