The team of Radha Raman ki Palki Travels and Tours is ready to accompany you on a spiritual journey to the revered Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, both situated in the holy land. This 14-day pilgrimage begins in Kathmandu and encompasses a range of experiences. Commencing with visits to Nepal’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the expedition then transitions across the border into Tibet. Through exploration and progression, we reach the sacred Mount Kailash. Amidst the journey, we delve into the sanctity of Mount Kailash and its hallowed environs. Notable destinations on this itinerary include Mount Kailash, Lake Mansarovar, Rakshasa Taal, Pashupatinath Temple, and various others.
Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, our designated representatives will warmly welcome you and assist you to reach your hotel in the city. Subsequently, a concise orientation will be conducted to familiarize you with the upcoming journey. This will also provide an opportunity to acquaint yourself with fellow group participants. The remainder of the day will be spent at the hotel, facilitating a comfortable overnight stay.
In the course of the day, we will embark on a journey to explore prominent Hindu temples within the Kathmandu Valley. Our itinerary includes visits to Pashupatinath, Gujeswari Shaktipith, and Jalnarayan Temple. Following these spiritual visits, there will be an opportunity to procure any required supplies for the upcoming Yatra. The day concludes with a comfortable overnight stay at our Kathmandu hotel.
We will start the day with a visit to the Swayambhunath Stupa in the morning. This will be followed by finalizing any remaining arrangements for the Kailash yatra, as our next destination will be Nepalgunj. Following lunch, we will proceed to the airport's domestic terminal for our flight to Nepalgunj. Our accommodation for the night will be arranged at a hotel in Nepalgunj.
At the break of dawn, we board a one-hour flight to reach the village of Simikot. Following this, our expedition advances with a dedicated chartered helicopter, transporting us to the adjacent Hilsa village. This village marks the point where the Karnali River embarks on its descent from the Tibetan Plateau through the mountains, eventually merging into the Ganges. After undertaking the essential immigration formalities at this location, we continue our journey along a 56-kilometer stretch of the Karnali River, ultimately arriving at the town of Taklakot. Our overnight stay will be arranged in Taklakot.
Dedicate the day in Taklakot to acclimatize to the elevated altitude and the encompassing environment. You'll have the opportunity to engage in brief hikes within the vicinity if you so choose.
Following our morning meal, we will embark on a drive to reach Mansarovar, an exalted and exceptionally picturesque lake renowned globally for its sanctity. This lake, positioned at an elevation of 4560 meters above sea level, still maintains its lofty location. Prior to our arrival at Mansarovar, we will make a pause at Rakshas Tal, a moment to absorb the tranquility of its surroundings, before progressing towards the Mansarovar lake. Referred to as both the "lake of the demon" and "Ravana Tal," the lake holds a legend that Ravana constructed it with the intention of gaining divine prowess through his devotion to Lord Shiva's meditative practices. Local beliefs associate this lake, containing saline waters, with toxicity. Continuing on, we will proceed in the direction of the distinctive 'sun'-shaped Mansarovar lake, which is said to be the overflow of the saline waters from Lake Rakshas. During the time when lunch is being prepared, we will undertake a drive around the Mansarovar Kora, a circuitous pilgrimage path encircling a revered temple, mountain, or in this case, a lake. Our accommodation for the night will be arranged at Mansarovar.
Immersing ourselves in a spiritual atmosphere, we will engage in sacred rituals (puja) at the shores of the revered Mansarovar lake. Our dedicated staff will ensure that each pilgrim receives a vessel of warm sanctified water from the lake for their ceremonial bath.
Subsequent to our puja and devotions, we will undertake the Parikrama (circumambulation) of the Mansarovar Lake aboard a Jeep, followed by our onward journey to the Kailash base camp, Darchen. Positioned directly facing the sacred Mt. Kailash, Darchen is a village town that will host our stay for the night. Accommodation arrangements will be made at a hotel in Darchen.
Our journey will encompass a three-day Parikrama (circumambulation) of great significance. Initially, we will proceed by road to the quaint hamlet named Tarboche, also recognized as Darboche, which holds the distinction of being the starting point of the Kailash Kora. This place, often referred to as the Valley of Gods, sets the stage for our sacred circuit.
Within Tarboche lies Yamadwar, known as the gateway of the God of Death, marking a point of significant spiritual import. Following a few hours of trekking, we will reach the settlement of Derapuk, positioned directly opposite the North Face of majestic Mt. Kailash. Our accommodation for the night will be arranged at a guest house, allowing us to rest and rejuvenate.
Within the span of the three-day Parikrama, today stands out as the longest and most challenging phase. Our path leads us initially towards the village of Jarok Donkhang, from where we will commence a hike in the direction of the revered Shiva-stal.
After a period of rest, we will proceed with a steep descent that leads us to the banks of the Lham-chu Khir river. Along this journey, we will encounter the sacred Gaurikunda, a Holy Pond. Subsequently, we will reach the village of Juthulpuk, named after its location. This village holds a renowned treasure—the Juthulpuk Cave, also identified as the Zruthulpuk cave, which carries the moniker 'the miracle cave'. Along the way, we will also have the privilege of witnessing the Buddha's Footprints. As the day concludes, our accommodation will be provided at a guest house, ensuring a comfortable overnight stay.
The morning will be dedicated to exploring the caves and temples within the vicinity of Milarepa's cave. Following breakfast, we will engage in a climb lasting three to four hours to conclude our Kora, bringing us back to the Darchen settlement. Lunch will be enjoyed there before we embark on our journey back to Hilsa. Our accommodation for the night will be provided at a hotel.
Following an early breakfast, our next step involves a flight to the village of Simikot. Subsequently, we will proceed with another flight from Simikot to Nepalgunj, a prominent urban center within the nation. Depending on the arrangements, we will either undertake a drive to Lucknow for our ultimate departure or opt for a flight to Kathmandu, where we will stay overnight.
An additional day has been allotted to accommodate any unexpected circumstances that may arise during the course of our journey. This provision ensures that we are prepared to address unforeseen events while maintaining the integrity of our itinerary.
Our team of representatives will escort you to the airport in accordance with your flight schedule.
