Pilgrims have the flexibility to choose between traveling on foot or opting for the convenience of a Do Dham Yatra tour package by helicopter.
Our 6-day, 5-night package not only includes visits to Gangotri and Yamunotri but also offers opportunities to explore nearby tourist attractions. These two sacred temples, each possessing its unique significance, are situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Pilgrims can embark on their sacred Do Dham Yatra journey starting from Delhi, passing through Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Barkot on their way to Yamunotri. Subsequently, they will proceed to Gangotri temple via Harsil before returning to their point of departure. For those choosing the helicopter Yatra option, the journey commences from the Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun and can be completed within just 2 days.
Listed below is a Do Dham tour package that promises to take you to some of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the Garhwal region.
Upon your arrival in Delhi, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome by our tour guide. They will then assist you to board the awaiting coach, which will transport you to Haridwar. Upon reaching Haridwar, you will check into your hotel room. After freshening up, you'll embark on a visit to the renowned Har Ki Pauri, where you can witness the spectacular evening Ganga Aarti. Following this mesmerizing experience, take a leisurely stroll through the local markets before retiring for the night.
After a delightful breakfast, you'll board the coach for your journey to Barkot, which is approximately 235 kilometers away, taking around 7 hours of travel time. Along the way, there will be a stop in Rishikesh, where you'll have the opportunity to visit Shivanand Ashram, the legendary Laxman Jhula, as well as Parmarth Niketan and Gita Bhavan.
Following your exploration in Rishikesh, you'll continue your journey towards Barkot. En route, there will be a halt at Kempty Falls, allowing you to stretch your legs and appreciate the beautiful scenery. Upon reaching Barkot, you'll check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast today, as it's going to be an eventful day. Our journey begins as the coach transports us to Barkot, which is approximately 42 km away. From there, we'll proceed to Hanuman Chatti, where we'll disembark, as the remaining 7 km to Yamunotri can be covered either by walking, riding a horse, or using a Doli (please note that charges for horseback riding and palanquin services are your responsibility).
Finally, we'll reach Yamunotri, where devotees traditionally take a dip in the hot water kund before entering the temple. Yamunotri serves as the starting point for the Char Dham Yatra, and the temple here is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Some pilgrims choose to prepare rice in the hot water and carry it home as "prasad." After our temple visit, we'll return to Hanuman Chatti, rejoin the coach, and head back to Barkot, where we'll spend the night at the hotel.
Rise early, have your breakfast, and then embark on a journey by boarding the coach headed to Harsil, the point of origin for the Gangotri pilgrimage. En route, we will make a stop at the Vishwanath Temple, located in Uttarkashi, to allow you the opportunity for darshan (divine viewing). After a six-hour drive covering approximately 140 km through winding mountain roads, we will reach Harsil, where you will check into your hotel.
Upon arrival, you may choose to explore the captivating vistas of the nearby mountains, the lush Deodar forests, and the rushing Bhagirathi river. Additionally, in the vicinity of Harsil lies Dharali, the winter abode of Goddess Gangotri, which you may wish to visit during your stay.
After finishing breakfast, the group embarks on the final stretch of the journey towards Gangotri, covering a distance of 40 km in approximately 2 hours. During this scenic drive, you will have the opportunity to relish the breathtaking views all around. Upon reaching Gangotri, you will have the chance to seek blessings at the Gangotri temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. According to legend, it is believed that Goddess Ganga descended to Earth at this very spot, landing on the matted locks of Lord Shiva.
After the darshan at the temple, you can take a short walk to the riverbank where you can witness the submerged Shivling. Once our visit is complete, we will return to Harsil for an overnight stay.
Savor a delicious breakfast before we board the coach for the journey back to Haridwar, marking the conclusion of the Do Dham yatra organized by Radha Raman Ki Palki for you. Our knowledgeable tour guide will assist you in reaching the railway station or airport, ensuring a smooth transition for your onward travels.
